Ventilated facade. Review of the main advantages and disadvantages

Hinged ventilated facades in Kyiv are a rather popular and universal structure of the structure. Its main feature is that between the facing (finishing) building materials, as well as the wall, a small gap is formed, where the air circulates. Thus, the air flows in it will take moisture penetrating through the decorative skin of the wall. The optimal gap width is from two to five centimeters.

This technology is considered quite easy to implement. A frame made of wooden parts is attached to the wall. If there is a need to arrange insulation, then it is recommended to lay a layer of heat -insulating material in the frame. A special membrane that protects against moisture penetrates is attached over the insulation. In the future, the counter is created. It is she who is responsible for the formation of the required ventilation gap.

If there is no need for insulation, and the ventilated facade has a decorative value, then you can do without insulation, protective membrane and crate.

To date, some manufacturers responsible for creating whole sets of ventilated facades use metal profiles and appropriate mounts. However, you can make this design yourself, which will save a considerable amount of money.

For such facades, in most cases, insulation from mineral wool is used. In terms of technical characteristics, they significantly bypass foam options.

Main advantages

By giving the ventilated facades, you can count on the following advantages:

A long period of operation.

The possibility of installation, regardless of the time of year (this is due to the fact that in this technology there is no «wet» processes).

A rich selection of building materials for finishing work.

Effective sound — and thermal insulation of the structure.

Stability in relation to atmospheric influences.

Flaws

The disadvantages of ventilated facades are reduced only to the situation with the installation of complex structures that require increased qualifications of masters. However, this does not apply to insulation of relatively small private cottages, but decoration of buildings for large shopping and entertainment complexes, etc.
